Untitled Form of Light
Untitled Form of Light is an ongoing project started about 7 years ago. The main focus of this work is studying the light, more exactly, the sunlight. I am meticulously observing the way the sunlight is falling at different hours, the contour, the shapes, the reflections that are created. It is a ritual, to work only in the sunny days. I take advantage of all this small details of how the sun light is acting in various places and times by creating temporal sculptures in the spots of light. After photographing this compositions in the specific sunlight, I destroy them, keeping just a memory of what it was. It is a catch of light, of time, of presence of everything that is disappearing.
For Untitled Form of Light I work with polaroid film, because of the palpable status of the polaroid photograph and because of it’s uniqueness, like the uniqueness of each second. A polaroid photograph is the instant appearance on a paper of the right away passed ray of light.
