“What do pictures want?” Requires a schizomorphic response that frames the bass and treble of W.J.T. Mitchell’s text inside an abstract body, [re]animated by a possible lack of precise categories an image could trigger. A-formal images consume formal images in the exhaustive search for analytical epiphanies.
The vital functions of photography are attacked by their own theoretical background; there was never a decisive moment, but a tacit constant. Only disarticulated can photography as a medium benefit from transcendent vitality.
Soft Hypostitions extends the conclusions of the prologue Our synthetic language was a baby crawling towards that death chamber, following the phenomena of labor migration inside national territory, interspersed with the space of the Basarabi-Murfatlar Cave Ensemble.
The objects of study converge around a geo-trauma produced in an aeon, elevating the whole approach from the areas of anthropology, sociology, history or archeology to an indescribable, vast and vague anti-structure, understood only through speculative realism.
The exhibition space for this project becomes a laboratory for catatonic analysis of the fragile hypostitions resulting inside, where the willing or unwilling viewer accesses networks of information on how a visual component relates to interpretive coordinates rendered by both the works themselves and their signage.
The photographic, graphic, textual, sculptural and sound elements, reduced to their initiality, allowing unlimited possibilities of interpretation.

Wundrkam is an art & research collective, interested in approaching the image from perspectives less explored in our contemporaneity. Experimenting with photography, video, sound, text, performance & various objects / juxtaposing documentary approaches with speculative inter-realities, the group seeks to reconfigure omitted syncopes in the contemporary art scene and other media production fields.
